Empower your impact at Cision. Be seen, be understood, be you.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI/ML Engineer to build intelligent systems at the intersection of large-scale data, natural language processing, and real-time analytics. You will work with millions of news articles, social posts, broadcast transcripts, and other unstructured data sources to extract meaningful insights that power Cision's next-generation media intelligence products.

This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on ML experience, and a passion for translating cutting-edge research into scalable production systems.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end ML and AI-powered systems that drive product features across Cision's media intelligence portfolio
  • Work with large-scale datasets to perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model development.
  • Design and implement monitoring systems to track model health in production including data drift detection, performance degradation, latency, and failure alerting and contribute to defining remediation workflows.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to transform research prototypes into production-grade ML services.
  • Evaluate and improve model performance through experimentation, A/B testing, validation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Package and serve ML models as reliable, scalable APIs or microservices, and contribute to shared tooling and best practices within the ML team.
  • Participate in system design discussions related to ML services, data pipelines, and model deployment architecture.
  • Work cross-functionally with product managers and engineering teams to deliver ML-driven capabilities aligned with product needs.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping machine learning or AI solutions in production environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning AI features end-to-end, from prototype to production to monitoring.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning theory and applied modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python and common ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with data exploration, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: API design, code modularity, testing (unit and integration), version control, and code review practices.
  • Experience building and maintaining production services, not just model training scripts.
  • Experience packaging and serving ML models via REST or gRPC APIs (FastAPI, TorchServe, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with MLOps techniques including experiment tracking, packaging and deploying containerized ML systems, cloud deployment (AWS or GCP) and automated evaluation
  • Experience with model observability tooling to track drift, degradation, and latency (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience working with LLMs in production including prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and fine-tuning and building and evaluating agentic AI systems using tools such as LangGraph, PydanticAI, or Langfuse.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and data scientists.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for generative AI outputs (e.g., RAGAS, LangSmith, or custom eval pipelines).
  • Experience building content analysis, classification, or information extraction systems — particularly in media, news, or NLP-heavy domains.
  • Experience optimizing model inference performance and scalability (quantization, batching, hardware-aware serving).
  • Familiarity with orchestration and workflow tools (Airflow, Prefect, Kubeflow, or equivalent).
  • Some hands-on experience with AI coding agent tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to accelerate development workflows.

What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like

  • Building, scaling, and deploying ML, AI, and agentic systems that power product features.
  • Running structured evaluations and experiments to improve model accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Building and iterating on monitoring dashboards and alerting to catch model issues before they impact users.
  • Collaborating with engineers to deploy models and AI systems as scalable, observable services.
  • Contributing improvements to shared ML tooling, evaluation frameworks, and deployment workflows used across the AI organization.
  • Participating in design reviews and architecture discussions, contributing to how AI systems are built and deployed across Cision's products.
