The senior designer will play a pivotal role in executing on the creative vision and strategy set by our SVP of Marketing . They are responsible for crafting exceptional design assets across a wide range of Marketing media (including Events, campaigns, reports, case studies, guides, blogs, webpages, digital assets, social posts, videos, templates, brand guidance, presentations, email & DataViz) to create experiences that truly resonate with customers, prospects, and internal teams.
This role is primarily contributor focused, with hands-on design expertise needed, while also incorporating some mentorship, tactical & strategic responsibilities. Senior Designers also have a hand in helping establish effective workflows, scalable design systems & templates, and design processes to deliver exceptional and optimal evidence-based brand experiences. Operating in a very fast-paced, collaborative environment, they are required to meet the needs of Marketing teams and empower individuals and teams across the wider business to excel in their roles.
As Brand Guardians, Senior Designers ensure the consistency, quality, and evolution of our PRNewswire brand. They work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and elevate the company’s brand presence in the industry, contributing to brand story & exposure, growth and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities (Shared)
Design Execution
• Execute on the creative vision and strategy defined by the SVP Marketing to create impactful, consistent, and engaging design experiences
• Develop and deliver digital, print, and branding outputs that sets the standard for quality and innovation in our sector across a wide range of Marketing media (including Events, campaigns, reports, case studies, guides, blogs, social posts, videos, templates, brand guidance, presentations, email & DataViz)
• Drive projects from concept to completion, managing resources and prioritizing workloads in partnership with members of the marketing team to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality or consistency.
• Challenge and refine creative briefs to understand and maximize ROI, brand equity, and alignment with strategic business objectives.
Brand Evolution & Systems
• Work with other marketing team members to evolve, systemize, and disseminate our brand vision across the design team and the broader organization.
• Partner with the Web team to ensure alignment between Brand and Web, fostering a seamless integration of design across all touchpoints.
• Help evolve, communicate, and maintain the PR Newswire brand guidelines to ensure consistency and innovation across all channels and departments.
• Help establish and implement effective team processes and practices to nurture a collaborative, evidence-based approach to design.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-disciplinary teams to support and deliver innovative solutions with measurable results.
• Work closely with peers in marketing, product, and web to align to their goals, metrics and needs to ensure cohesive and effective execution of campaigns and initiatives.
Mentorship & Growth
• Lead by example, championing robust design principles, attention to detail, and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Innovation & Trend Awareness
• Stay ahead of design, cultural, and industry trends to inspire creativity within the team and ensure our brands remain industry leading.
• Regularly review competitor activities and innovations to help differentiate our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.

Because design is often subjective, abstract, and difficult to isolate, it is challenging to objectively measure its impact – or tie directly to revenue. However, the team’s main measures are;

• Timely delivery of projects in alignment with strategic objectives.

The Senior Designer is expected to contribute to the following BAU/day-to-day tasks:
• Social Media Assets: Design engaging assets such as carousels, GIFs/videos, and imagery to support organic and paid social media campaigns.
• Presentations: Provide design expertise for a variety of decks, ranging from tidying and enhancing slides to offering creative input on roadmaps, internal presentations, town halls, sales decks, RFPs, and analysis reports.
• Paid ads: Create optimized concepts and layouts for high-performing advertising campaigns. Actively participate in Growth team metrics presentations to understand which strategies are effective and engage in competitive research to refine and improve ad performance.
• Website/Product images: Support the Web team by providing creative concepts and visuals that align with and enhance related marketing campaigns, supplementing their capacity when needed.
• Swag: Research and design branded merchandise for customer marketing, events, and internal staff initiatives.
• Brand Management: Maintain and distribute branded assets, templates, and guidelines to empower teams and individuals across the business to self-serve and create consistent, on-brand materials for both internal and external use.
• Product launches: Liaise with Product Marketing and Product to supply supporting assets, decks, website graphics and promotional assets to help create impactful Product launches
• Campaigns: Supplementary Design assets for Tier 2 and Tier 3 campaigns
• Reports, Case Studies, and Guides: Supplementary Design assets for Tier 2 and Tier 3 campaigns
• Events: Supplementary Design assets for Tier 2 and Tier 3 campaigns.
• Blog Posts: Create supplementary design assets to enhance blog content and make posts more visually engaging.
• Data Visualization: Transform complex datasets into compelling visual narratives that help communicate insights effectively.
• Email Design: Develop headers and layouts for email campaigns across various teams and services.
