As a world leader in media monitoring, research and analysis, Cision works hard to meet the needs of customers who need to know what is published about them. We also are committed to respecting and protecting the Intellectual Property rights of publishers and content providers. That’s why we’re working with customers, publishers, and international copyright organizations to ensure we meet the needs of both constituencies.

Content Licensing

As copyright laws continue to evolve, Cision is actively participating in the global effort to develop practical solutions for copyright protection and digital rights management. While there is no single governing agency in Canada or the US, we have agreements with and support multiple organizations dedicated to establishing standards and best practices that can reduce and eventually eliminate misuse of intellectual property, and avoid copyright infringement. As welI, in Europe we have partnered with the Newspaper Licensing Agency (NLA) in the UK and PMG, in Germany, to ensure all organizations have access and can share the news they need while ensuring they are copyright compliant.

Become a Content Licensing Partner

In Canada we have agreements with many agencies who collect and remit royalties on behalf of rights holders, such as Canadian Broadcasters Rights Agency (CBRA), Access Copyright, and Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association (AWNA). We also license content directly from publishers and broadcasters, including The Globe and Mail, TorStar, and Rogers Media. We are also the recognized consumer supplier for broadcasters such as the CBCCTVGlobal and Newstalk 1010. In the US, our licensing agreements include media outlets such as The New York Times, Washington PostBoston GlobeGannettMcClatchyBloomberg and CNN.

Drafting an appropriate digital rights agreement can help protect your content from copyright infringement. For more information on a licensing agreement with Cision, contact contentlicensing.ca@cision.com.

Report Misuse

Cision respects the intellectual property rights of publishers and broadcasters and expects our customers to do the same. If you are a copyright owner who wants to report copyright infringement or misuse of content by our customers, please contact contentmanagement@cision.com.
