Key Accountabilities
1. Manage and administer Linux servers deployed globally, both on-premises and in cloud providers
2. Build, upgrade, and optimize Linux servers per standard operating procedures and best practices
3. Participate in patching cycle for global server footprint
4. Recommend improvements in operational and deployment strategies
5. Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service
6. Determine and provide root cause analysis for Linux-related incidents
7. Use Ansible to automate common, complex, or repetitive tasks in the environment
8. Proactive monitoring of system performance, and capacity planning
9. Evaluate and improve processes around continuous systems integration and automation by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
10. Work with global team to architect an efficient, effective and stable environment
11. Participate in rotational after-hours oncall, and work outside of normal hours as-needed to support project and initiatives
12. Performs other duties as required

  • Requirements
  • Qualifications
  • · Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration supporting a large Linux server environment
  • · In-depth knowledge of Linux platforms, including architecture, design, administration, and management of a distributed systems environment
  • · In-depth knowledge with scripting languages
  • · Expertise within a Cloud Server environment (preferably AWS) is a strong asset
  • · Working knowledge of distributed Monitoring (Solarwinds, Nagios)
  • · Stays abreast of the latest technology infrastructure and processes in the industry / marketplace
  • · Advanced problem solving, attention to detail and analytical skills
  • · Proven abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously, excellent organizational and time management skills
  • · Solid aptitude to understand client requirements with excellent written and verbal communications skills, responds clearly and concisely and provides technical guidance to business stakeholders
  • · Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • · The job is primarily performed in an office setting
  • · Regular requirement for multi-tasking, simultaneous multiple urgent demands and / or work requiring attention to detail, subject to frequent, regular interruptions, or peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace or deadlines
  • · Salaried job based on 40 hours / week. This job has a requirement to be on-call for escalations (team has an on-call rotation for 24x7x365 coverage).
  • · Occasional travel may be required
  • · Sustained requirement for manual dexterity / coordination for computer use
  • · Regular requirement for low-intensity mental, visual or aural concentration for such activities as reading, inputting data, taking notes
  • · Sustained requirement for high-intensity mental, visual or aural concentration such as writing code, analyzing large volumes of data, listening to calls / presentations or face-to-face interactions of a more complex nature
