Overview of role: 
 
The SMRO reports into the VP of Commercial Operations and is responsible for leading 3 RevOps functions to help shape the EMEIA GTM strategy through metrics, expert analysis, and recommendations. These functions are: Intelligence and Analysis, Sales Operations Execution, and Sales Compensation design and implementation. The team will deliver actionable insight from existing and new datasets, deliver improvements in sales process, methodology and execution, and implement effective and consistent compensation across the region. The SMRO will identify future commercial opportunities by developing the client acquisition strategy, churn reduction programmes and value increase within the existing customer base (cross-sell and ups.  
 
Duties and responsibilities

·       Partner with senior Sales and CX leadership and the broader Sales team to drive the overall productivity and effectiveness of the commercial function 
·       Assist in the creation and execution of the sales plan; optimize and drive effectiveness of the end-to-end sales process 
·       Define and cascade key performance metrics; own the ongoing analysis of sales performance against the key company & individual KPIs across all Commercial channels (NB, AM and CX); set up a regular cadence of review 
·       Key liaison between sales & BI team to ensure that the commercial teams get the required visualisation of performance required 
·       Design an overarching compensation strategy and create plans for all commercial roles that motivate and incentivise sellers in line with the company objectives; provide analysis as to the success of the plan and design iterations as required to drive behavioural change leading to revenue impact 
·       Create an EMEIA wide sales playbook to define Rules of Engagement around complex international/strategic customer engagements; develop and chair an EMEIA Deal Desk to resolve ROE clashes to ensure the smoothest possible customer experience and Cision revenue outcome; support Global sales engagements in conjunction with the US counterpart 
·       Create and implement streamlined processes across sales, account management and CX teams to improve customer experience throughout the full lifecycle 
·       Develop and manage the 12-18-month Revenue Operations roadmap 
·       Hire, develop and retain a strong team of players and build a culture of execution and accountability 
·       Develop the ability of others to perform at their highest potential and contribute to the company by providing ongoing feedback and opportunities to learn 
·       Establish best practice employee performance measurements, ensuring a strong vision, mission and individual goals are set at all times, aligned with Cision best practices 
 
Essential Skills and Experience: 
 
·       Minimum 5-7 years working in and leading a revenue operations function 
·       Ability to create and track metrics which demonstrate constant increases in sales productivity. 
·       Regularly spend time with sales and build sales operations deliverables to meet their needs. 
·       Ability to build a strategic vision in a given business area, and you can also deep dive in the specific details of a project when required 
·       Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way 
·       Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to innovate. 
·       Ability to work cross-functionally for the greater good of the company 
·       Someone who is used to working within a global organisation with different cultures 
·       Success in this role will in large part be driven by your ability to connect and drive consensus 
·       You have developed a strong business acumen and a data-driven approach 
·       Lead your team by example and deliver complex projects yourself while supporting your team in doing so
