The Senior HR Manager leads the U.S. team of HR business partners and provides business partner and general human resources service for a specific client base.  The senior HR manager oversees execution of HR policies and programs including onboarding, career development, compliance and employee relations. They also work in partnership with HR professionals from centers of excellence including Talent Attraction, Benefits, Leadership Development, HRIS, Internal Communications and Compensation.
 
To be successful in this role the individual should have a good foundation of HR knowledge, and management experience including a desire to build solid working relationships, and a passion to learn the business in order to contribute to the HR elements of business strategies.  The successful individual will feel comfortable working independently and confident in their decision making abilities while having the ability to work collaboratively with the other members of the HR team.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains positive relations by working with all levels of managers and employees up to and including executive leadership
  • Leads the US HR Business Partner Team, and other HR professionals, ensuring excellent HR service delivery within US and business functions
  • Advises on escalated employee relations issues, partners with Legal when appropriate
  • Participates in org structure reviews and talent planning with client groups; maintains a pulse on culture, reviewing trends, and providing suggestions for action planning
  • Counsels and advises employees and management on Human Resources programs, developmental opportunities, potential problems, career development and day-to-day inquiries on any HR related matter.
  • Communicates and educates consistent application of policies and procedures
  • Attends regular management meetings and provides HR perspective on business issues
  • Ensures that all new hires are brought into the office in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Answers questions,and communicates any process changes to assigned region.
  • Conduct exit interviews with staff voluntarily leaving.
  • Assist with recruitment initiatives to ensure proper approvals for open positions. Work with HR Recruiting partner and utilize recruiting system to review applicant flow/resumes; Interview and evaluate applicant skills as needed.
  • Participates in other departmental projects as assigned
  • Collaborates with other HR business partners and HR colleagues
  • Occasionally attends career fairs and other events 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  A concentration in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • HR certification a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of previous experience as a Human Resources Business Partner required.
  • Minimum of two years of previous management experience
  • Experience providing coaching to management and executive level roles
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proven track record in the areas of employee relations, recruitment and performance management. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HRIS preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to anticipate potential situations and proactively resolve issues
  • Occasional travel may be required
