This position will develop and manage tailored sourcing strategies along key verticals, categories, or vendors by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive cost savings, improve business processes, and reduce risk across Cision globally.
The Procurement Manager will work closely with Finance/Accounting, Legal, and key business owners to provide sourcing leadership, including: strategic sourcing, category management, vendor selection, contract management, commercial escalation resolution, vendor governance/onboarding, and ongoing improvements to system integration and process efficiency.
This Procurement Manager position is instrumental in Cision’s overall strategy to provide to drive savings, compliance, and process standardization across the company.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Manage and drive the supplier sourcing across the supply base, including scope development, the RFP process and supplier selection evaluations.
Assess supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment
Track and report key metrics around vendor data, cost reduction, & spend management
Collaborate with suppliers, functional business owners, and the Legal/Infosec/Privacy teams to contractualize the commercial relationship
Work with Legal team to oversee the contract lifecycle for key agreements and categories
Where applicable, perform risk management for key suppliers and agreements
Interface with internal teams to prioritize supplier development needs by technology to improve cost competitiveness or supply constraints
Research external market information and companies to identify potential sources and suppliers
Drive supplier selection through robust qualification and evaluation processes
Develop categorical framework
For key suppliers, develop and oversee supplier governance and key performance indicators (QBRs, scorecards, etc) to facilitate and develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations and to deliver value.
Work with business stakeholders and vendors to develop cost models and financial analysis to support vendor selection activities
Provide leadership around sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery
Coordinate escalation path between Cision and Supplier to ensure ongoing performance & relationship management
Where possible, support the business by performing cost build-ups, market analysis, or historical spend analysis
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Supply Chain Management required. MBA in business discipline is preferred.
: 5+ years of procurement across indirect categories and/or within the PR distribution industry.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with track record to meet deliverables and project deadlines.
Lean/Six Sigma trained. (e.g. Green Belt, Black Belt, Master Black Belt)
Vast experience with cross functional management and teams
Experience across ERP/MRP/CLM systems.
Strong negotiations and influential skills.
Numerically astute with strong problem-solving skills and expertise to develop and execute objectives for self and others and the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals
Persuasive and excellent communicator (oral and written) with suppliers and company top management.
Strong strategic and analytical thinker. Ability to turn raw data into actionable insights and direction.
Competency in Microsoft Office with high ability in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in Sourcing or Procurement-related roles
Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualification
Commercial and financial acumen
Report and Procedure writing with excellent presentation skills
Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
Ability and willingness to travel 10-30%
