As a Privacy & Compliance Assistant, the main focus of your role will the initial rollout of the compliance program within Cision as a part of our integration initiative following a large scale acquisition. The following pillars will account for the foundation and direction of this role: Governance, Framework, Assess, Protect Sustain, Respond.

In this role you will

  • Oversee how the privacy program is developed, maintained, and improved;
  • Own general administrative tasks such as categorising privacy email inbox, maintaining Salesforce and distributing cases, submitting tickets in Salesforce, managing team calendar, taking minutes, organising g-drive and files;
  • Look after management and operations of the privacy program to ensure alignment with the department’s overall privacy strategy;
  • Assess the efficacy and sustainability of the holistic privacy program through program assessments, analysis, recommendations and audits;
  • Work to ensure the protection of assets through the implementation of industry leading privacy and compliance controls;
  • Focus on how the privacy program is sustained through communication and training;
  • Incident response planning, incident detection, incident handling.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (experience with Excel/Sheets is a must, with preference for the ability to build Excel reports from scratch e.g., pivots, vlookups, index matches, etc.; Data visualisation experience is a plus);
  • Proficient in Google Suite (i.e. Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Calendar);
  • 1-2 years of privacy, compliance, legal, regulatory or financial services industry experience;
  • 1-2 years of experience in operations research, risk analysis/management or other analytical field;
  • Ability to research independently and quickly gain familiarity with privacy laws and regulations;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong organisational skills: ability to identify, prioritise, and resolve issues quickly and effectively supporting multiple publishing labels and corporate activities.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), judgment, and time management skills;
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism and courtesy and must be able to work collaboratively with team members at all levels of the organisation;
  • Track record of and commitment to ensuring the highest level of confidentiality;
  • Collaborative and motivated to find the best approach through consultation with colleagues across the company;
  • Salesforce experience is preferred.
