Cision is establishing a brand-new Pricing function, and looking to hire ambitious Analysts, Managers and Sr Directors motivated by the opportunity not only to define and own our pricing strategy and implementation, but to build Cision’s pricing capability from the ground up.
 
The Pricing Analyst role will be highly cross-functional – working with Sales, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Product Marketing, amongst other functions – to drive pricing improvement across Cision’s three main lines of business – Software, Distribution, and Insights. You will own turning large data sets into actionable analytics and insights, playing an exciting part in enhancing our ability to drive profit optimization across our product offerings. This role will also play a large part in defining our pricing strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather data from across Cision’s various functional and geographic systems to analyze historical pricing trends and determine impact to Cision’s P&L
  • Working with the rest of the pricing team, identify pricing opportunities/initiatives in line with Cision’s GTM (go-to-market) strategy that deliver improvement in operating profit margins
  • Develop quantitative, actionable insights that drive decision-making through the application of statistical, and/or advanced data analytics techniques
  • Establish and maintain pricing tools, including price books, pricing reports and supplemental documents
  • Help implement critical pricing governance initiatives – like a Deal desk – with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support various departments with respect to questions related to product pricing
  • Assist with the development and roll out of value based selling approach and tools
  • Develop expertise in and stay current on developments in our marketplace
  • Gather and maintain competitive intelligence from a variety of sources in a standardized manner, to ensure broad knowledge of competitive actions, and assist in the development of market benchmarking activities

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years in an analyst role – strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with large data sets, drawing both granular and high-level insights
  • Strong financial and business acumen with ability to identify and evaluate opportunities
  • Ability to understand and communicate tactical and strategic implications from data / analysis
  • Experience building presentation to communicate critical insights to leadership and broader business
  • Familiarity with data tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, Alteryx, and PowerBI
  • Scripting and/or coding experience in Python, R or similar language is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preference for Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering
  • Prior pricing and/or SaaS experience is not required – the team will be dedicated to teaching and mentoring the candidate towards becoming an expert in their own right
