Position Objective
As an Insights Director, you’ll lead and manage daily sector-specific operations within Cision Insights to ensure the retention and growth of existing client revenue.  You will be responsible for ensuring successful client relationships, overseeing project profitability, ensuring professional growth across your team and acting as a primary point of contact and representative for all-things insights and measurement.

Prefer Candidates located near Ann Arbor, MI or Chicago, IL. Will consider remote Candidates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversees up to 15 analysts and managers, varying in location and tenure
  • Makes recommendations on all hiring, performance management and disciplinary decisions for the sector team
  • Coaches and mentors team members; recognizes strengths while encouraging ownership of personal development
  • Sets the standard for client retention and growth of all high revenue accounts within the sector 
  • Addresses sub-standard work or work that does not meet client’s expectations
  • Uses data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making for clients
  • Defines, develops and champions best-in class methodology to support and elevate effective and efficient report processes across the team
  • Supports aspects of new business development and customer acquisition by evangelizing measurement best practices and solution selling
  • Champions and promotes cross-project synergies and acts as the Subject Matter Expert, leads and keeps abreast of industry best practices, innovative practices and sector trends
  • Works with key stakeholders in contributing to product and services roadmaps and strategies
  • Performs other duties as required

You will be a good fit if:

  • Background and / or expertise in Automotive, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, PR, Media, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field is required.  Previous knowledge and expertise in the media evaluation industry, preferred
  • Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in client services management is required, with at least 3 years in a management role for multiple locations and leading a virtual team. 
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge using a variety of data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc., preferred
  • Advanced written communication skills, skilled at crafting compelling and succinct communications to broad audiences
  • Advanced oral communication skills, with strong relationship building, influence and negotiation skills
  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills with keen attention to detail, ability to think outside the box and decipher complex information
  • Advanced project management skills with a proven track record to deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task within a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member on a team
