Director, Legal Operations

As the Director of Legal Operations, you’ll be responsible for establishing the legal operations function within Cision. Working closely with the Chief Legal Officer, you will lead the legal team’s efforts to become more efficient and effective. This is an exciting role for a legal operations professional to build something innovative and exciting from the ground up.

This role involves:

  • Helping to conceptualize, develop, and implement a legal operations strategy including selection (along with legal department heads) of the right KPIs to measure success within the legal department
  • Establishing, managing, and driving the legal team’s OKRs and otherwise streamlining how the legal team works together to achieve its goals
  • Taking on first-line management for all vendor relationships within the legal team
  • Coordinating department budget management, planning, and tracking, including supporting monthly and quarterly accruals for legal spend and major litigation
  • Managing key legal projects across the legal team, including working with other departments to help implement cross-departmental projects along with the legal team
  • Building out processes to improve legal workflows, such as setting up contract playbooks, creating and conducting sales trainings, and general contract management
  • Helping with miscellaneous administrative matters and other special projects as needed, which may document filings, document review, RFPs, etc.
  • Travelling to other offices as/when needed, likely no more frequently than a few times per quarter

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in the operations space with at least 3-4 years of experience in legal operations
  • 1-2 years of experience as a project manager appreciated but is not required
