Overview of the role

Engaging, downloadable, sharable, “get them talking” content is what we’re after – and a steady stream of it.  The Content Marketing Manager will produce topical, newsworthy copy in multiple formats, for all our channels, that attracts readers and interest from our key audiences (PR, Communications and Marketing professionals) expanding our company’s digital footprint, awareness, subscribers, and leads.  You will own and execute the full content production process from generating specific topics and ideas, producing or sourcing long and short-form content, editing content, and delivering full content packages. 

We want someone with a point-of-view about how our content marketing approach can evolve and grow over time.

Candidates must have a deep love and skill for writing compelling audience-relevant content, a curiosity to learn and understand different sectors and industries, ability to build relationships and embody the company’s voice through all work.

You will report to the UK Marketing Director, working in collaboration with our UK and Global marketing teams.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for devising, managing and executing content experiences for Cision UK. 
  • Own the annual marketing editorial/ content calendar to support demand generation (leads), engagement, conversations, and relationships with existing and potential customers. Deliverables include but not limited to blogs, videos, website pages, webinars, infographics/data visualization, internal and external email newsletters, whitepapers, social-only content, and more
  • Partner with creative designer and subject matter experts to facilitate agreement on content deliverables, create the deliverables against agreed schedule
  • Own our social and blog calendar, including writing original content and overseeing third-party contributions
  • Create relevant video content related to our brand and industry topics and trends working with our content agency
  • Integrate keywords into your strategy and evaluate the effectiveness, optimising SEO
  • Oversee all public relations activities and identify key opportunities to drive brand awareness and establish a strong industry network with key stakeholders e.g., journalists
  • Partner with Marketing Managers to measure content effectiveness and make recommendations for future campaigns and to make improvements
  • Provide copywriting and copyediting support for other marketing activities as needed
  • Manage, develop and coach the skills among your peers
  • Work with and contribute to internal knowledge sharing with the EMEA and global

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Track-record of delivering results in house, or in an agency, designing and executing marketing communications campaigns, and/or combined editorial journalism experience
  • An in-depth understanding of the PR, Communications and Marketing community is desirable
  • Strong collaborator across multiple teams to help generate new, topical stories and content
  • Experience using a CMS (ideally Adobe Experience Manager)
  • ABM, SEO, Social, PPC, SEM and email automation experience
  • Significant experience in working with, influencing, and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate with impact (written and verbal), with an eye for detail

This role is for a start date ASAP with an expected salary up to £55,000 per annum.
