The Accounts Payable Lead will perform various duties in all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, including: guiding other accounts payable team members, setting up payments in bank systems, reviewing invoices processed for payment and other duties as needed. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, have the highest standard of customer service, excellent written and verbal communications skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist other accounts payable team members
  • Facilitate processing of electronic (ACH, wire - domestic & international, amex) and check payments
  • Review online Travel & Expense reimbursement submissions
  • Administer T & E database updates
  • Resolve past due accounts, respond to vendor inquires and handle escalations as needed
  • Analyze and process payment documents (invoices, check requests, credits, etc.) into the ERP system
  • Ensure invoices are reasonably coded to general ledger accounts
  • Track invoices and obtain corresponding approvals
  • Create and enter journal entries (i.e. invoice reclass, intercompany & various accrual entries)
  • Maintain accounts payable files
  • Assist during monthly close process
  • Day-to-day vendor maintenance and completion of year-end 1099 filing
  • Ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Data entry experience
  • Critical thinking skills
  • 5 or more years of accounts payable experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and reconciliation experience
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Drive and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pick up information quickly
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
  • Ability to be exacting and thorough while still meeting deadlines required
  • Commitment to “internal client” and customer service principles
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
  • Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office Suite; strong knowledge of Word & Excel
  • General scanning/indexing experience
