We know it is early and no one wants to think about holiday shopping but in PR we have to. Now is the time to pitch magazines and editors to get your products in holiday gift guides.

We spoke with two editors of leading publications to find out what they needed from PR representatives to get their products featured in their magazines. Both Tara Losinski, Assistant Managing Editor, Zoomer magazine and Michelle Bilodeau, Digital & Special Projects Editor, The Kit need your pitches to be well thought out and complete.

Bow-1Before you hit send on your pitch ask yourself these three questions:

1. Is this beneficial to the outlet’s audience?
2. When is the product available?
3. What the price point?

If you can’t answer these clearly go back to your client or product team and dig for more information. Today editors have less time and they have to do more than ever before. Help them help you and give them everything they need.
