South Korean pop sensation Psy of “Gangnam Style” fame is coming to Canada.
Employing Psy as an influencer is a good fit for the brand, considering the singer’s ability to draw a crowd. Not to mention, both Psy and the electronic giant both originate from South Korea.
Clever move that Samsung did not sell the tickets, but instead ran a Facebook contest in which they gave away seats for ‘likes’. Tickets were also distributed through radio contests on stations like Virgin 99.9 and Kiss 92.5. Samsung used all available channels, including earned, paid and social media to promote the event.
The campaign also offered VIP access to the first 25 people to show their Samsung Galaxy device. Great way to promote brand loyalty and convert social to experiential.
The campaign may be over, but you still might be able to sneak a peek at the star at the Kool Haus in Toronto tonight.
