As we reflect on the past twelve months, it’s safe to say that 2017 was quite an eventful year for the Cision team.
After coming together in 2016, the Canadian teams, products and services united under a unified and refreshed Cision brand. This was closely followed by Cision becoming publicly listed as CISN on the New York Stock Exchange. This major announcement also coincided with the company collectively celebrating 150 years of business.
We also celebrated Canada’s 150th birthday through our year-long share of voice study, which captured the volume, sentiment and national engagement around this milestone event. And just this month, we acquired CEDROM-SNi, whose products and services are complementary to our own.
In June, Toronto was the final stop on Cision’s successful World Tour, where we brought Canadian industry and media experts together for an engaging discussion about the role of data and technology in driving earned media.
Even as we worked to complete all of these major steps, we continued to make major upgrades across our product set. On the distribution side, we continuously optimized newswire.ca to benefit customer content and continue to see substantial Google.ca traffic, proving that major search engines trust the accuracy and relevancy of this content. With each iteration of the Cision Communications Cloud® comes more streamlined communications processes, a more user-friendly interface, and more fine-tuned insights and analytics.
2017 also saw the launch of Cision City, an online customer community where you can learn more about Cision – or anything related to your job – by tapping into the knowledge hive comprised of Cision experts and your communications pro peers.
